Forget the current battle for 8 megapixel supremacy, by the year 2012 handsets like theC905 will look about as impressive as a disposable camera. At a recent press conference in Sweden, Sony Ericsson outlined its war path for high-end mobile phones claiming that by 2012 it will offer a range of handsets packing between 12 – 20 megapixels worth of sharp shooting clarity.
Besides that, full HD video recording capabilities are mooted alongside 1024 x 768 pixel displays, 1 GHz processors and 100+ Mbps data speeds. If that doesn’t sound like a giant pile of awesome to you then chances are, you are reading the wrong blog.
Of course, before these handsets become possible Sony Ericsson might have to figure out a way to turn mobile users into pure energy to power its handsets. Either that or sort out some impressive new battery technology. It’s a tall order and 2012 is not far off. Let’s hope this is not a case of over promising and under delivering.
Who said that dreaming won’t get us closer to the future? Sony Ericssonspoke about its future plans for its camera phones business. In about 4 years from now we’re going to probably have camera phones that will be able to shoot 12-20 megapixel photos, full HD video recording and a 1024×768 pixel display. Behind the screen there’s going to be a 1GHz processor and data speeds of 100+ Mbps via LTE or some other fast connection. With all that in mind we can’t help but remember the days when Sony Ericsson were thinking break-up thoughts.
